One of my demands (sorry, one thing I would like to see) is a map which is cut by a large chasm; it doesn't have to be straight. This is an area of the sphere which is still under construction. The energy from the sun blasts through this split in the sphere. The only way to get ground units across is to transport them, but the heat from the sun causes damage to anything crossing. The only way to get a large force across and assault the enemy is by building a bridge across this gap. Who ever places the first bridge has the advantage; but if your assault is unsuccessful the enemy can swarm across to counter-attack.
It is really bad idea for a map, because you won't be able to build a bridge to the enemy, and you can't drop them properly, so this is 100% turtle map where you just build the economy and rush artillery
When you combine bridges with the ability to destroy the terrain you open up so many strategic considerations. It's cool to think that even if the sphere was cracked, players will be able to counter it by building over the destroyed section.
Yeah the bread wants it to self heal for gameplay reasons. I think it doesnt even need to since the superweapon is so late late game that land units wont even be used anymore. Plus I like giving players the ability to change the map - instead of using the shatter weapon to target someones base, you could target the choke point in the middle, meaning their army couldn't get to you, buying you some time to do something else

But also Special_Bread said, that you could shatter the sphere by shooting enought nukes at it too, and in such situation it can actually matter if it gets repaired after some time.

I love this concept and I hope it makes it into the game! Would be cool to try to get your bridge constructed before your opponent gets the chance, but to also take over the bridge that's already been built would be even better IMO. You'd spend less time worrying about the resources it's going to take to build the bridge which is always a plus!

I don't think it is gonna be that good because, why even bother attacking on such a map? Enemy can't attack you with air because sun, and building bridges us gonna take some time and resources. It us better in every way to just go for economy, defend any attack attempts and go for a nuke or artillery.
Because of of this map has to have the birdies and something in the middle to fight for, otherwise game is gonna be very stale and boring
It's very good to hear that both of them can actually work very well. Hopefully, they can make provision for adding both of them in the game. I'm so much looking forward to seeing it happen.
